Attic Smells Fruity

Another potential source of attic odor is from a combination of rodent droppings and urine when mice or rats take refuge in the attic they are naturally going to do their business here. Musty dirty animal and moldy smells in an attic create an unpleasant surprise when you go up to this easily overlooked space in the house. Such odors may even make the items or clothing you re storing in your attic smell as well. But sometimes it might be easiest to simply get rid of those musty items.

Rodent droppings urine. If you notice this type of odor coming from your attic avoid entering it unless you are wearing a proper respirator. If the odor persists you may need to rent or purchase a plumber s auger or snake to dislodge the clog. Let the bleach sit for 30 to 60 minutes then run the hot water or flush the toilet again.

If the smell is in fact coming from your furniture or carpet cleaning and reupholstering is an option. This odor takes time to develop inside of a home and is usually caused by dampness and moisture that is present within the environment. A rotten egg smell might be a potentially dangerous natural gas leak.
